About the Author
At East Carolina University, Benjamin Bikman got a Ph.D. in Bioenergetics with a focus on the responses of metabolic procedures in obesity. As a postdoctoral fellow at the Duke-National University of Singapore, he continued to research metabolic disorders, with a specific focus on insulin resistance. Dr. Bikman has continued to research insulin, particularly its role as a regulator of human metabolism and its relevance in chronic disease, as a professor at Brigham Young University and the director of the university’s Diabetes Research Lab. Dr. Bikman is a research mentor to undergraduate and graduate students in addition to his research and teaching. His discoveries are routinely presented and published by him and his pupils.
