About the Author
I’m a mystery and thriller author. My family and I live in Portland, Oregon. I wrote a short story about a six-foot-tall frog who loved peanut butter and sent it to Roald Dahl, the creator of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, when I was 11 years old. He took it to lunch with him and showed it to the editor of a British children’s magazine, who requested that the story be published! (For no pay, which could be interpreted as a warning about how difficult it is to make a livelihood as a writer.)
My goal of becoming a writer was put on hold until I was in my 30s, working in a corporate job, and began writing books on the side. Those first several years, when I was writing a book a year, working full-time, and raising a child, are now a distant memory. Now I’m extremely fortunate to be able to make a living doing what I enjoy. I’ve written 26 adult and teen novels, with more on the way. My works have been on the New York Times bestseller list, have won the Anthony Award, have received starred reviews, have been selected for IndieNext, have been translated into eight languages, and have received accolades in a dozen states.
