Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake
She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, now stained red and dripping with blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.

About Kendare Blake (Author)
So, I write books. The Anna Dressed in Blood duo is horror, The Goddess War trilogy is mythology, and Sleepwalk Society is contemporary, because the world don’t move to the beat of just one drum. What might be right for you, may not be right for some. Love to read, too. Fiction, philosophy, good books, bad books, because you take the good you take the bad you take them both and there you have a stack of books and stuff. I mean, you’ve got to be adventurous. There’s more to life that what you’re living, so take a chance and face the wind.
There’s more coming soon like Scary Out There and THREE DARK CROWNS so don’t waste another minute on your cryin. We’re nowhere near the end.
My likes include animals, food, and nostalgia. I mean, whatever happened to predictability? The milkman, the paperboy, the evening TV? Used to be everywhere you look, there’s a heart, a hand to hold on to.
Anyway, I love to hear from readers so drop me a line here or at my website and we’ll talk about friends to know, and ways to grow, and how if you threw a party you would see that the biggest gift would be from me and the card attached would say, thank you for being a friend.
We can also talk about all the sitcom theme songs in this bio. Sha la la la
WHAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW
Parents need to know that Anna Dressed in Blood is the start to a horror series by Kendare Blake (Three Dark Crowns) with a movie in the works produced by Twilightauthor Stephenie Meyer and starring Maddie Hasson and Cameron Monaghan.
With “blood” in the title, you’d be smart to expect lots of it here, along with ghost scares. It’s a good fit for mature readers who are avid watchers of scary movies. Otherwise, expect nightmares. Teens known to the main character, Cas, die gruesomely — three of them in the present, one in a flashback that includes fear of sexual abuse.
Two of these teens are found dead, ripped apart with blood everywhere; one is killed by a parent; one is ripped in half by a ghost. The family cat is killed. People unknown to Cas are found killed and partially eaten. Cas’ father had also been found dead, partially eaten, 10 years before.
Hauntings show gory details of deaths, such as spilled intestines. Cas dispatches other ghosts with a special knife and learns their stories of how they died, usually violently.
He suffers many injuries including a concussion, near organ failure, and bruises. While sexual content is just kissing, swearing of all intensities (“damn” to “f–k”) is a regular occurrence and there’s some heavy teen drinking at a party (though with a designated driver)
